About NEBOSH

The National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) offer a range of qualifications designed to meet the health and safety, environmental and risk management needs of businesses and other places of work, both public and private sector. Not only useful, NEBOSH qualifications are internationally recognised, including by bodies such as the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) and the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM). Technical standards are overseen by a council made up of representatives from national institutions.

National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety

The NEBOSH National General Certificate covers the main legal requirements for health and safety in the UK, identification and control of workplace hazards, and the practical application of this knowledge. The National General Certificate is the most widely held health and safety qualification in the UK with over 100,000 people having gained the award since it was launched in 1989. The Certificate is aimed primarily at managers, supervisors and staff from all types of organisations who need a broad understanding of health and safety issues. The certificate helps them manage risks effectively. Many people take the NEBOSH National General Certificate as a first step in a career in health and safety.

NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management

The NEBOSH Fire Safety and Risk Management Certificate is a qualification for those with fire safety responsibilities in the workplace. It was launched in 2005 and is already established as popular qualification with over 50 providers offering courses in the UK and abroad, and over 500 candidates having already achieved the qualification.

National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety is established as a leading health and safety award for the construction industry, with over 4,000 successful candidates since 1989. The NEBOSH National Construction Certificate is aimed at Supervisors, Managers and CDM co-ordinators within the construction industry who are required to ensure that activities under their control are undertaken safely. It is likely to prove useful for those concerned with the management of buildings who may need to ensure that contractors are working safely. The qualification is also appropriate for supervisors and managers working in other industries such as utilities, and even broadcasting, where temporary workplaces are a feature of their activities.

International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health

The NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health is a globally recognised qualification offered by an established independent UK examination board with over 25 years experience in providing health and safety awards in the UK and across the world including the Middle East, the West Indies and Southeast Asia. It is aimed primarily at managers, supervisors and employees based outside the UK who require a broad knowledge and understanding of health and safety principles and practices.
